The exercise aims to test military maneuvers 1, reconnaissance, strike power, mobilization and militia 2 reserve support.

The exercise will be conducted in accordance with training plans, with exercise areas and attack targets randomly 3 selected. Aviation, artillery 4, air defense 5, infantry 6, missile and radar 7 military units are participating in the drill.

According to a PLA statement released Monday, no aircraft will be allowed to enter the airspace of the drill without permission. The statement added that Chinese authorities have informed Myanmar of the drill and an end date will be announced later.

Meanwhile, China's Foreign Ministry 8 spokesperson Hua Chunying called in a press conference for peace and tranquility along the border.
