　　17.complement 1/compliment
　　① complement：补足(物)，补全，补足语
　　eg：The team needs players who complement each other.
　　球队需要能够相互取长补短的队员。
　　② compliment：致候，恭维，赞辞
　　eg：Please give my compliments to your parents.
　　请代我向你的父母问好。
　　18.stuff/staff
　　①stuff：东西、材料、素材
　　eg：Put that stuff over there.
　　把材料放在那儿。
　　②staff：职员
　　eg：the nursing staff of a hospital
　　医院的护士们
　　19.conducive 2/conductive
　　①conducive：有助于，有益于，相当于helpful（常同介词to连用，用作表语或后置定语）
　　eg：Exercise is conducive to health.
　　运动有益于健康。
　　eg：We should create an atmosphere conducive to study.
　　我们应该创造一种有助于学习的气氛。
　　②conductive ：导电（热）的（常用作表语或前置定语）
　　eg：Copper wires are highly conductive.

　　①confidant：知己，心腹之交
　　eg：He is my confidant.

　　②confident：相信的，自信的
　　eg：I am confident of success.

　　① resist：抵制，对抗
　　eg：Lack of proper nourishment 3 reduces their power to resist disease.

　　①technique：技巧、技能、技术、技艺。更具体，指某项技术。
　　eg：a pianist with superb technique 技术精湛的钢琴家
　　②technology:科技（总称）、工业技术、工艺学。更抽象。指成系统的一种科技大类。
　　eg：information technology 信息技术

　　① principal (adj.)：the most important，最重要的
　　eg：The principal reason for my decision was the money.
　　我做决定时最看重的就是钱。
　　②principle: a rule 定律、原则（通常用在科学领域）
　　eg：It's the first principle of aerodynamics.
　　这是热力学第一定律。
　　24.transfer/transmit
　　① transfer：转移，调任，转让，侧重点是转移（某物）
　　eg：He transferred the package from one hand to the other.
　　他把包裹从一只手换到另一只手。
　　eg：I transferred from Rutgers to Tulane.
　　我从罗格斯大学调任到杜兰大学。
　　②transmit：传输，传导，发射，侧重点是传送（信号）
