CCTV9英语新闻：外国留学生参加中文比赛

The Chinese proficiency 1 competition "Chinese Bridge" tests student’s skills in various aspects of learning what’s often considered to be the most difficult language in the world.
“汉语桥”中文比赛是一项旨在测试学生汉语学习技能的竞赛，而汉语被认为是世界上最难学习的一种语言。
100 contestants 2 from 50 countries have made it to the final round. Aged 3 between 18 and 52, these participants are students now studying in China, who are all deeply interested in Chinese culture.
来自50个国家的100多位留学生闯入决赛。这些18-52岁的参赛者目前都是在中国学习的学生，他们都着深深地痴迷于中国文化。
But passion alone is not enough to impress the judges. The contestants need to be well aware of Chinese customs to be able to tackle the questions raised by the judging panel, which include renowned 4 actor and host Qu Xianhe, and CCTV anchor Lang Yongchun.
但是，激情还不足以打动评委。这些参赛者需要很好的领悟中国风俗，以应对评委提出的问题。评委们包括著名演员兼主持人曲先河以及CCTV主播郎永淳等。
"We are selecting contestants who are extremely good at the Chinese language. They also need to know the culture well. Then we need to see that you are also a very good presenter 5. You have to be better than the others in your reactions and other talents to stand out," judge Lang Yongchun said.
郎永淳说“我们要挑选的是那些非常精通汉语的参赛选手。他们需要非常了解中国文化。然后，我们还要看到你们的表现力。你们必须有快于常人的反映速度，这样才能脱颖而出。”
The competition is mainly open to international students now studying at Chinese universities. The show is due to be broadcast on CCTV-4’s English channel from August 21. Tune 6 in to see how well they speak Chinese.
