Power has been restored to nearly eighty percent of households in the epicenter of the quake. The quake cut off electricity in ten townships in Ludian County.
By noon Tuesday, the Yunnan provincial 1 electricity company have brought three 35-kilovolt transformer power stations and fifteen 10-kilovolt lines back on line. With more temporary shelters and field hospitals being set up, it’s estimated an additional fifty generators 3 and eight generator 2 vehicles will be needed.
Also, five major roads connecting Ludian County with 3 other townships and several villages have been reopened by 6:30 this afternoon. These roads may allow more local injured residents be transfered to hospitals and more supplies to be sent to the epicenter.
