In Taiwan, a 39-year-old man was put in quarantine on Tuesday on suspicion of contracting the MERS virus, after he came back from a travel in South Korea.
His test results are expected to be released as early as today. Taiwan has raised its response level and widened its travel alert to include all of South Korea and not just the capital Seoul.
Authorities say Taiwan's Taoyuan International Airport will monitor all tourists coming from South Korea. Meanwhile, the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative 1 Regions have also raised their response level to the MERS disease.
