The biggest surprise this morning was Crash. I think a lot of people love this movie, but no one was quite sure it would go this far and get,you know best picture nomination 1 and the best ~ur the acting 2 nomination, best supporting acting that is for Matt Dillon. Now I think that there is a lot of renewed interest in that film now.

Which is great news for the film.

So, so for best picture, what do you figure? Crash gets it? Brokeback? What do you think?

My else is all about Brokeback Mountain, it is one,(It is, yeah.) you know, it's pretty much won every award it can, up untill now, I don't see anything stopping Brokeback Mountain at this point.(I (don't)),..) I don't see anything stopping the momentum 3.

Even though... the SAG 4 Awards ( Screen Actors' Guild 5 Awards) completely, did it verse what you are just predicting?

Yeah, you know, I don't think so. I think the SAG Awards were an exception, and I think you are gonna see Brokeback Mountain, you know, go all the way and it's gonna win and probably its director will win etc, etc.

All right, so, er, let's talk about best actress. What do you, who do you like in that category?

Well, you know as I 've said for months, this is Reese Witherspoon's category, it's all locked up. She's won every critic's award, you know she is, she is really head and shoulders above the competition, the only one who is really could possibly take it away from her would be Felicity Hoffman, who won, you know, that~the golden globe in the dramatic category but I do feel like Reese Witherspoon is old, she is loved in the business, it's a knocked-out performance, she is, you know, she is, she is loved, I think it's all hers.

(inaudible)

Yeah.

It's weird 6 how North Country, which I think early on people had a great buzz for winning.

It's just it's sold poorly of the box office, but because the best actress category is particularly weak this year, I think that is why you saw Charlize Theron get the nomination any way.

Interesting. Alright. Let's talk (ab)out the best actor? What do you like?

Best actor? It's, it's a race between Philip Seymour Hoffman and Heath Ledger 7. These, that is for Capote and Brokeback Mountain respectively. These are the two guys who won the Golden Globes. And I think it's very likely to go to Philip Seymour Hoffman.

I don't know~you know~

I know that...

So with that you disagree.

It's a great category, you know, (Let's talk about....)I mean I always defer 8 to you, but the category is so good this year, , (well, who do..)just as a woman, sort of , it's not such a great category, I think, (Yeah.)you know there is only really one really strong candidate, I think, look at the men,

It is really strong, Terrence Howard, pull it out, got nomination for Hustle 9 & Flow, not a huge...

Good Night and Good luck got amazing reviews.

Good Night and Good luck.

Yeah,(I don't know.) but I think ultimately for top man who is going to win or you know who the categorie is gonna go between on March 5th? I think it's those two actors.

And who do you pick out of the list?

I think it's gonna be Philip Seymour Hoffman in the end, for Capote.

Interesting.

Supporting actress?

Supporting actress. This is sort of a category made up of a lot of people who aren't stars. Ha ha. I mean Amy Adams for June Bug 10. Look at this list. Catherine Keener, most people know. Francis Mcdormand won ten years ago for Fargo, Rachel Weisz for The Constant Gardener. She won the golden globe, and Michelle Williams for Brokeback Mountain. I think this is an interesting race, I think it's most likely gonna go to Rachel Weisz in the end for Constant Gardener.

I bet it would be great if Catherine Keener got that, the big award. She's a terrific actress.

It would, because she's a terrific actress and it could be, it would be really a career award, (Yeah.) because she's been doing this. you know She is been turning in great performances for a long time now.

How about supporting actor?

Supporting actor now. This is the killer 11 category. (Yes, it is.)This is a category chock full of the amazing nominees 12. Look at that. Of course, Clooney, you know, for Syriana, Matt Dillon for Crash, it's his first nomination in like, a-26-year-career. Paul Giamatti who's been snubbed two years in the row, er, finally got his first nomination. Jake Gyllenhaal who is snubbed at the Golden Globes got an Oscar Nomination this morning. Then William Hurt ,who won, you know, a decade and a half ago best actor for Kiss Of the Spiderwoman. I think this is a category that's likely gonna go to George Clooney. Because, again, he is loved in Hollywood. He had, this is the most incredible morning of his life, right? Three(Yeah.) nominations 13 in three different categories(not bad), but I think, you know, Syriana ,much is, it was a little confusing and hard to follow I think, you know, you wouldn't, you can't ignore Clooney's performance in that film.

We are totally out of time. So just tell us who you think best director is gonna be, for what and we are gonna run.

I think Ang Lee is going to win for best, er I am sorry, for Brokeback Mountain and the film is going to win as well.

So you predict a pretty big night for them?

Big night for Brokeback.
