Well, contents can get awfully 1 expensive if you add up the flowers, that great romantic dinner, the candy, all that other mumble 2 jumble 3, it can get pretty pricy but it doesn’t have to be. Celebrity 4 event planner David Stark 5 who is so creative has some fantastic ideas of how to set the mood without blowing our budget. Right, David?

I hope so, I hope so. How are you to..

Happy Valentine’s Day.

The same to you.

We are going to use a bunch of materials today that can be found where?

Supermarkets, like your everyday supermarket.

And the drug store, right?

The drug store, a hardware store, but mostly like a supermarket.

OK, nice and inexpensive, now all of us have like about a million of these probably hanging around somewhere in our house just like a plain glass vase…

It could be a plain glass vase, it can be a drinking glass. The key is
that it needs to be straight-sided and I’ll show you why.

OK, all right, what are we gonna do with that?

We are gonna use regular wrapping paper you can get this at the drug store, at the supermarket. You take a tape measure, (OK.) you take the…lips, the circumference 6 of the circle (Right.) to measure how wide your paper needs to be, (OK.) as well as the height. And then you cut out a piece of paper, and you can really transform that clear vase into anything, (Very cute.)So you know, obviously this is great for Valentine’s but you know the store is filled with great stuffs for Christmas, for Hanukah, for a birthday. (St. Patrick’s Day.) Absolutely.

Right, and you just put it on with…

It’s a glue stick.

A glue stick? And then sticks.

No hot glue necessary, (Good.) no messy and…

Yeah, very cute. How you also trimmed it with a little bit ribbon here? We can set it off that way, right?

That’s the thing I really like finishes it off. So I’ve started one here, (OK.) but if you just add the glue to the glue stick and then you seal it. ( Right.) That’s the thing I, you know, when you add that final touch, that’s the thing that keeps it from, wouldn’t cheesy, if you will. I mean that’s the finishing thing takes it from everyday to really special.

Do you think a lot of people appreciate something homemade like this could also be a great party even for a kid to do for a parent, you think for that?

Yeah, I mean one of the things that I love about is there ideas that we actually do in real life for glamorous 7 celebrity things, but they are really ideas you can do at home, (Yeah) for, you know a roll of wrapping paper can be 3 dollars.

Really sweet and simple, and you just used what, grocery store flowers here.

That’s right. I mean, the same thing, that what I didn’t show you was this is really luminary 8, (Oh, cute) so if you add a votive candle to that and light it, the magic of, of the light will be through the paper. But it could also be a vase, and in this way you know we took the same idea, (Uh-hum.) and you know, with store bar flowers, these are carnations 9, the thing that’s wonderful right now is that flowers are much better in supermarkets than they have even been before, (OK.) so the general quality level is that much higher. And yes we've use red and pinks for Valentine’s but you could use yellow you could use white, ( Mixed it up like that) that’s also one of the ways to bring the cost down, you know red flowers get much more expensive, so why not go yellow, ( Such a rebuff) nobody cares yellow. So anyway, we give a fresh cut to the flower, (OK.) and then you just add it in, (Very Nice) and eventually, you, you know have a full amount of that. ( Right, which looks so grate.) We can also, we can also add fruit, so here I got strawberries from…Oops. We lost one

So what would you do with the strawberry? Show me very quick .

Well, this a skewer 10, just a barbecue skewer (Right, here you go.) you add it to the bottom, just like so, and then this is a little long you can break it off if it’s too long, but it’s kind of like a flower you know, you’re adding a stem to the blossom.

Right, you can use less flowers that way, too with that?

That’s right.
That was very neat.
Yeah. And we have to have candy. (OK.) All right so show us what you did with candies, this is adorable.

This is quiet the easiest and fastest idea, I mean you know, you go down the candy isle 11 (Right.) and things look like this packaging of itself is not so incredible. But when you take it out of the packaging, it’s really great, (Very cute, just put you) I’ll let the candy, (There you go, I’ll let the flower, and full out), that’s right.

Happy Valentine’s Day. (A lot of fun.) David, so great to have you here, that’s a lot of fun, great ideas. That is David Stark.
