喵星人(cat)和汪星人(dog)这一对欢喜冤家，在习语中都有各自丰富的表达，快来看看我们熟悉的“喵”和“汪”都有哪些你不知道的故事!
1. let the cat out of the bag 露出马脚;泄露秘密
这就是我们常常说的露马脚喽，在英语中，用猫来表达同样的意思。据传，乳猪曾是非常抢手的食物，但一些狡诈的商家将小猫装在帆布口袋中冒充乳猪销售。一些谨慎的顾客就会先let the cat out of the bag 将小猫放出来，商家自然就露出马脚了!
Eg:Their engagement 1 was to be a secret but the ring on her finger let the cat out of the bag.
他们俩订婚原本想保密的，可是她手指上的戒指却把这个秘密泄露出来了。
2. like a cat on hot bricks 2/like a cat on hot tin roof 像热锅上的蚂蚁;坐如针扎

3. see which way the cat jumps 见机行事;随机应变
这个习语源于一种击打木片的游戏----tip cat，玩家需要看清木片(cat)的运动方向再进行击打，看木片的方向这一动作也就引申为见机行事了。

4. rain cats and dogs 倾盆大雨;风雨交加
关于这个短语的来源，流传最广的说法是中世纪城镇因为使用的排水系统非常简陋，暴雨时不仅污水横流，还有一些小猫小狗的尸体。如此狗和猫便与瓢泼大雨有了联系。

5. let sleeping dogs lie 不要招惹是非，莫自找麻烦
这是个非常形象的表达，试想一下，如果打扰了别人家睡的正香的看门狗，接下来应该会有一段自讨苦吃的经历了。
