第四，我们可以说hit out at sb/sth. In English, it means "to attack sb or sth by violently criticizing them". 中文意思是猛烈地抨击。我们通过下面的例句来熟悉这个习语的意思:
In a rousing speech the President hit out on the trade union.主席在一次言辞激烈的讲话中对工会进行了严厉的批评. He made a speech hitting out at racial discrimination. 他做了一次猛烈抨击种族歧视的讲演。
Hit out at sb or sth除了有“猛烈地抨击”的意思之外，还有“猛烈地进攻”的意思。我们开看下面的例句：
After playing himself in carefully, Smith began to hit out at the looser balls. 认真地作好准备后，史密斯开始猛击球，不再怕丢分。In short, it is undesirable 1 to hit out in all directions and cause nation-wide tension. 四面出击,全国紧张,很不好。
第五、我们可以说jump on sb。In English, it means "to criticize sb". 中文意思是批评责备某人。我们来看下面的例句来熟悉这个习语的意思。
His boss will jump on every little mistake he makes, no matter how trivial. 哪怕是出了再小的差错，老板也会对他横加斥责。Why is it, doctor, that I am always so nervy, tense and ready to jump on anybody ... 大夫，为什么我总是感到神经质、紧张、爱发脾气 ...
Jump on 出了上面的批评责备的意思，还有“扑向”的意思。我们来看下面的例子：I have to go jump on a conference call. 我得去开个电话会议。Mr. Smith got the jump on us by seeing the manager before we did. 史密斯先生比我们先见了经理，占了我们的上风。
