【今日课堂详说】
如果我们要表示“criticize sb all the time or nag 1 sb all the time”，用地道美语这么说：“to get on sb's case ”or “to be on sb's case”。中文意思是指手画脚，唠唠叨叨。如果我们要说“对......指手画脚”“对......唠唠叨叨”，用get on sb's case或者是be on sb's case来表述一定是和介词about连用，即：get ( be ) on sb's case about sth (doig sth)。

1. rather than conj.宁可 ... 也不愿, 与其 ... 倒不如 prep.而非...
Eg. It is a telex 2 rather than a letter. 与其说它是一封信，不如说它是一封电传。Rather than risk breaking up his marriage he told his wife everything. 他惟恐婚姻破裂，把一切都告诉了妻子。（提示：Rather than位于句首时，句子要进行倒装。Breaking up his marriage是动名词做risk的同位语。该句的正常语序为——He told his wife everyting rather than risk breaking up his marriage.）These are political rather than social matters. 这是政治问题而不是社会问题。
2. nothing but 只不过，只有Eg. There was nothing but silence in the room. 这间屋内声息全无，一片寂静。He is nothing but a hypocrite, pretending that he knows nothing about it. 他是一个虚伪的人，假装对那件事一无所知。（know something about的反义词是know about something inside and out）3. let on's hair down (slang) 放松Eg. Let your hair down and enjoy the party. 放松一下吧，来参加晚会吧。
