上期课堂我们说到了俚语中的实际发音,那么就有可友们问了——Juliet,这个俚语中的实际发音有没有什么规律呀?基本规律是有的,今天我们就讲第一个规律——如果一个单词以字母t结尾,后面紧接着以字母y开头的单词,那么这个字母y的发音就要发为字母组合ch的发音,即[t ? ]。
下面我们就来看2个例子。第一个是let you,l-e-t,y-o-u,let you。Let是以字母t结尾,紧接着的单词you是以字母y开头,根据上面所讲的发音规则,y的发音就要发字母组合ch的发音,即[t? ]。由于在美国人的日常生活中,人称代词you有两种读法,一个是yu,另一个是ya。因此let you的发音可以为:let'chu和let'cha。
第二个例子是want you,w-a-n-t,want you。Want是以字母t结尾,紧跟着是字母y开头的you。根据规律,y发音为字母组合ch的音[t?]。那么,want you发音就为want'chu或者是want'cha。
说到这里,我们再来看刚才的题目——I want'cha to leave. 这个句子关键在于cha,那么把ch还原为y,a还原为ou,那就变成单词y-o-u,you了。我们来听一下正确答案是什么——I want'cha to leave.——The correct answer is (a) I want you to leave. 正确答案是a. I want you to leave。
