上面的2个例句都是倒装句。如果是要对含有not...until...这个短语的句子进行倒装，分为二个步骤。第一步骤是将“not untill”提到句首，主句的助动词或者是情态动词等省略。第二步骤是从句的助动词，情态动词等提到从句的句首。例如第一句：“Not until we lose health do we know it's value.”的正常语序是“We don't lose health until we know its value.”主句是we don't lose health，从句是until we know it's value。那么我们把not until这2个词语提出来放到句子的开头，即：Not until，然后把主句中的助动词do删除，再接上主句we lose health。接下来是个难点了，从句we know it's value中没有助动词或者是情态动词等，那么我们知道就加上一个助动词，do，最后接上从句we know it's value. 像第二个例句中Not until his friend offered to help could he do it.中的从句有助动词could，那么就把它放到从句的句首。
有的朋友在the critical moment前用介词at，at the critical moment。整个句子句法是没错，但是句子意思和我们要表达的意思恰好相反。Don't play your ace in the hole at the critical moment. 在关键时刻不要用绝招。句子要表达的意思是在关键时刻用绝招。
