【课前热身】
First of all , let's have a review. 在第八课的第一讲中，我们说道了与“covering one's whole body”同义的一个口语短语：from head to toe, from head to feet 从头到脚，浑身上下，遍布全身。并且知道了由其而引申出来一个意思与“very much , completely , thoroughly 1” 同义：彻底彻尾地，完全所有地，极度地，非常地。
【课堂讲述】
今天我要教给您另一个口语短语同样有以上2个意思，与“from head to toe (or feet )”完全等同。What's it? We might as well listen to the following sentence: We were covered in mud from top to toe. 我们浑身是泥。Obviously 2, it is "from top to toe". 在今天的这个句子中用了一个含有top, t-o-p 顶部和toe，t-o-e脚趾间这2个单词的一个短语来表述“浑身上下”和“彻底彻尾”的意思。
Let's look at two more sentences including it that expresses "covering one's whole body". 1 Sweat suddenly drenched 3 him from top to toe. 他浑身上下淌着汗。2 Don't come to bed, covered up from top to toe. 上床睡觉，千万不要从头到脚唔得严严实实的。(备注：cover up这个短语有2个用法：第一个是cover up或者是cover oneself up . It means"put on more clothes". 加多，穿多衣服，穿暖和点。For example: It gets cold , you'd better cover yourself up. 天变冷，你最好多穿些衣服。第二个用法是：cover something up. It means "to cover something completely so that it cannot be seen" 意思是：（完全）遮住，盖住。For example: He covered up the body with a sheet. 他用一张床单把尸体盖住了。)(And now ,let's look at two more sentences including it that expresses "very much , completely , thoroughly". 1 I'm confused from top to toe. 我完全给弄糊涂了。2 He took me in from top to toe with his honeyed words. 我完全被他的甜言蜜语给骗了。（备注："Take somebody in" means"make somebody believe something that is not true". 欺骗，蒙骗。You are a cheat! You cheated me! I will get you someday!你是一个骗子！你欺骗了我！总有一天我会报复你的！I dare you to cheat me.谅你也不敢欺骗我。）【课堂总结】
Let's have a summary. Firstly ,我们学了与“from head to toe”"from head to toe" 同义的短语：from top to toe. 从头到脚，浑身上下，彻底彻尾，完全所有。Secondly 4, we have got some useful phrases: cover up (cover oneself up ) 穿多些衣服，穿暖和点，cover something up （完全）遮住，盖住，take somebody in 欺骗，蒙骗（某人），honeyed words 甜言蜜语。
