Last time we learned 1 a short sentence: Don't tell a soul. which is used to warn somebody not to discuss something private with anyone else. If you ask somebody not to tell a soul about something, maybe his answers are: "My lips are sealed. ' " I will keep my mouth shut. '" I am not one to kiss and tell. " "I will keep quiet about it. " and so on. However, I have a perfect answer you don't know. Want to know? If so, please listen to the following simple situational dialogue and I'm sure you can get it. A : Actually I only have a high school education. B : Your secret's safe with me. I thought you'd been to university.

It is " Your secret is safe with me." 直译为：你的秘密和我在一起是安全的。This means "I won't tell anyone." It's a way of saying that the speaker can be trusted. It's similar to saying "我会替你保密的" in Chinese. If we want to express someone won't tell something else to others , it's fine that we just remember this sentence structure ：（something) is safe with (somebody). 从这个短语中，我们可以举一反三，如果我们要说某人替某事保密，我们可以用这个结构：（something) is safe with (somebody).
