It is tempting 1. Once you've figured this out, it is tempting to keep writing the same poem, or keep telling the same story, over and over, once you've figured out that it will gain you applause 2. 它也是很诱人的，一旦你要搞明白这个，它诱使人们不断创作同样诗歌，或者不断诉说同样的故事，一遍又一遍，一旦你搞明白了它就会赢得掌声。

It's not enough to just teach that you can express yourself. You have to grow and explore and take risks and challenge yourself. 仅是传授你能表达你自己，这是不够的，你得成长和探寻冒险挑战自己。
And that is step three: infusing the work you're doing with the specific things that make you you, even while those things are always changing. 这是第三阶段：倾注到你做的事中去，做些属于你与众不同的特别事，即使这些事情总是在变化。

And I always thought that my beginning was at the Bowery Poetry Club, but it's possible that it was much earlier. 我常想，我开头是在鲍威利诗社，但可能这开头要早得多。
In preparing for TED 4, I discovered this diary page in an old journal 5. I think December 54th was probably supposed to be 24th. 在准备TED讲话，我发现在旧笔记本里的这篇日志。我想12月54日可能应该是24日。
It's clear that when I was a child, I definitely 6 walked through life like this. I think that we all did. 很明显当我小孩时，我确定要走过这样的人生。我认为我们都这样。
I would like to help others rediscover that wonder-- 我愿意帮助别人重新发现这口语诗的奇迹--
to want to engage with it, to want to learn, to want to share what they've learned 7, what they've figured out to be true and what they're still figuring out. 想要参与其中，想要学习，想分享他们所学到的事，他们所确信为真的事情和他们所要搞明白的事情。
