It's on foot. It's amazing how quickly you find yourself in isolation 1. There's nobody here, just the baboons 2. The morning mist seems to be pretty determined 3 not to lift. No sooner have I begun to make progress on my walk, then the path ahead goes completely out of sight. It's not too long before the weather really closes in. I might have got used to rain on my UK walks, but deep rumbling 4 in the distance does not bolt well for the rest of the day.-Wow, lightning.
-See, that's exactly what our prayer warned us this about. Let's go.
-Let's get out of here.
-It's getting scary.
-Let's go. Now we've got to be careful.
This might be exhilarating weather to watch, but in these conditions the mountains are no place to linger. My walk is well and truly over for today.
It's proving decidedly tricky 5 to experience the freedom of these isolated 6 mountains. But as luck would have it, Day 3 brings an all-together different perspective.
