 Hi!everybody, this is Tod Smith with Little Things Matter.The title of today's lesson is What’s in Your Rulebook? 大家好。我是托德·史密斯为您讲述“小事也重要”。今天的题目是你的生活守则里有什么?

Each of us has our own rulebook. Our rulebooks contain the rules from which we each live our lives and see the world. 我们每个人都有自己的生活守则。我们的守则里包含的规则，来源我们如何生活以及如何看待这个世界。
It includes everything from how we want the toilet paper to unfold on the roller to the things we do when no one is watching. 它包罗万象，从我们如何想要给卫生纸上辊，到当没有人在旁边注意我们时，我们如何行事。
It is the book that governs how we make decisions and influences every part of our lives. 这本书控制我们如何做出决定，影响着我们生活的每一部分。
The truth about all of our rulebooks is they contain things that break the law, go against our religions and violate 1 others trust. 我们所有生活守则的真相，包含违反法律的事情,违背我们的宗教信仰，亵渎他人的信任。
Now before you get all excited thinking “You’re wrong, Todd. I’m not guilty.” Consider these questions: 现在现别激动地发表你的想法，“托德，你错了。我是无辜的。”考虑一下如下这些问题:
If you are driving through an empty parking lot late at night and see a stop sign with no car in eyesight, will you come to a complete stop before proceeding 2? 如果你在深夜开车穿过空旷的停车场,看到视野之内，有一个没有车的停车标志,你会完全停止前行吗?
Do you go over the posted speed limit? 你超过最高限速吗?

Do you feel that under the right circumstances it is acceptable 6 not to tell someone the whole truth? 你认为在合适的情况下，不告诉别人全部的事实真相而有所保留可以接受吗?
Do you ever find yourself exaggerating the facts to persuade others to your point of view? 你有没有发现自己夸大事实来说服他人接受你的观点呢?
If we are honest with ourselves, none of us do everything the world’s laws say we should do. 如果我们对自己诚实,就没有人会做，世上的法律规定我们应该做的一切事情。
We have each chosen to accept some and justify 7 not doing others. 我们每个人都是有选择的接受一些,为其他没做到的辩护。
We ALL have our own set of laws or rules from which we each live our lives. 我们所有人都有自己的一套关于生活的法律或规则。
These rules influence everything, from how we live our lives today to who we become tomorrow. 这些规则影响一切,从我们今天的生活方式到明天我们成为怎样的人。
As an example, many of these blog posts represents the rules that govern my life. 作为一个例子,许多这些博客文章描绘了我如何管理生活的准则。
Let me encourage you to start paying attention to your rules. 我鼓励你，开始关注你的规则。
As you look at the decisions you are making each day, start questioning them. 当你看看每一天你做的决定,开始质疑他们。
Ask yourself, “What is my rule for making this decision? Is this rule helping 8 me achieve the things that are important to me, or is it is hurting me?” 问问自己,“是哪条生活守则让我做出这个决定?这个规则事帮助我实现，对我很重要的事情,还是伤害我?”
If you choose to sleep-in rather than get up early to knock out an important project, question your rule for making this decision. 如果您选择躺在床上酣眠，而不是早起，全力以赴做一个重要项目,质疑让你做出这个决定的生活守则。
If you feel it’s acceptable to scan your phone for messages while engaged in a conversation, then question your rule. 如果你觉得可以接受，会谈过程中不停查看你的电话消息,然后质疑您的守则。　
If you make the choice not to exercise today, question your rule. 如果你决定今天不去锻炼，请质疑您的守则。
If you feel it is okay not to focus on meeting the needs of your spouse, if he or she is not making an effort to meet yours, question your rule. 如果你觉得，如果你的配偶,他或她没有作出努力来满足你的需求,你也不用关注他或她的需求，是可接受的，质疑您的守则。
If you think it is okay to show up five minutes late when meeting a friend for lunch, question your rule. 如果你与朋友一起吃午饭，认为可以晚到五分钟，质疑您的生活守则。
