From a very young age, all of us were taught how to accept a gift: say thank you, say something nice about the gift  从很小的年龄开始，我们所有人就被教导如何你去接受礼物：说谢谢，说礼物很漂亮，

Today’s lesson on accepting compliments will help you see that this little thing can be a huge boost to your reputation. 今天接受赞美的课程会帮助你认识到一点小的事情对于提升你的荣誉有很大的作用。
There are a number of theories as to why people have a hard time accepting compliments. 有一些理论是关于为什么人们很难接受赞美。
Reasons range from wanting to appear modest or not feeling as if the compliment is deserved to doubting the sincerity 2 of the person giving the compliment. 原因包括出现的一些不确定的感觉就像那些给你赞美的人是值得怀疑的。
What you may not realize, however, is that rejecting, deflecting 3, or not properly acknowledging a compliment creates a negative impression for three specific reasons. 你可能没有意识到，然而，承认负面影响的三个原因是拒绝，婉转或者不正确的接受的赞美。
1. Discounts the intentions of the person giving the compliment 1.给向你赠送的礼物打折扣。

Remember that everybody is busy. We all have our own concerns to look after, 记住每个人都很忙。我们每个人都有问题，
so when someone takes notice of something we’ve done well and makes an effort to tell us, we owe it to them to acknowledge their thoughtfulness. 因此当某人发现我们做的很好的一些事情时会努力的告诉我们，我们感谢他们的体贴。
Defined as an expression of praise, commendation, or admiration 4, compliments should be pretty easy to recognize, 为表扬、赞美、羡慕和恭维下一个定义，恭维是最容易被认出的，
