Part 3 Flowers on Valentine's Day 情人节的鲜花

Dialogue Script  1

Ben: Man, I'm beat!
Sarah: C'mon. It's not even noon yet.
Ben: I sold two thousand long-stem red roses already!
Sarah: What do you expect, it's Valentine's Day. Red roses mean love.
Ben: But, does everyone need to send ninety-nine at once?
Sarah: It's romantic! Ninety-nine flowers mean " I love you forever."
Ben: No, it means, "Hello. I have a lot of money."
Sarah: Let's do the window display while it's slow.
Ben: I did it earlier. What do you think?
Sarah: Are you trying to bring customers in or scare them away?
Ben: That bad, huh? I'm all thumbs when it comes to matching colors.
Sarah: Try these pots of tulips with those potted orchids 1.
Ben: That looks great! The pinks and purples really go together. Here comes someone. You're up!

他说,Man, I'm beat. I'm beat.

Are you trying to bring customers in or scare them away?

I'm all thumbs when it comes to matching colors.

The pinks and purples really go together. This blouse does not go with the skirt.

Dialogue Script  2

Jason: I need some flowers for my girlfriend, Iris 2.
Sarah: No problem. Would you like some artificial carnations 3?
Jason: Oh, no, carnations are not very elegant. Artificial flowers have no passion.
Sarah: About how much did you want to spend?
Jason: Money is no object.
Sarah: Our most elegant, and (under her breath) most expensive flower is the golden lily.
Jason: Now you're talking, I'll take ten.
Sarah: Do you want to add a tropical bird of paradise? They're equally fashionable now.
Jason: Of course.
Sarah: And tie it to the others with this imported red silk?
Jason: Why, will it fly away? (laugh to himself)
Sarah: Uh, yeah. You don't mind if I box them?
Jason: Better not. They may bruise 4.
Sarah: That's true.
Jason: Can you had it delivered to my girlfriend this afternoon?
Sarah: Yes, but there is a 5 yuan delivery charge.
Jason: That's OK. Here is the address.

他说,Money is no object. ...is no object. Money is no problem.

Jason觉得这还差不多,他说Now you're talking.

You don't mind if I box them? What? You didn't tell her that I called?

The cakes were boxed and sent off quickly.

Dialogue Script  3

Ben: Happy Valentine's Day! Special delivery from Jason.
Iris: Oh, he is so sweet! I thought he'd forget.
Ben: Have a good day with your valentine!
Iris: These lilies are gorgeous! Wait a minute! My name is Iris. Why didn't he send me irises 5? (looks at card) Who is Lily? Jason, you're dead meat!
Ben: (leaving in a rush) Uh-oh! Now tomorrow will be Ex-Valentine's Day for sure!

Happy Valentine's Day!

2. 嗯,Iris很开心,说,he is so sweet! I thought he'd forget. I love to see her sweet smile. It was sweet of him to help me out. Those roses have a sweet scent 6.

3. Have a good day with your valentine!

Now tomorrow will be Ex-Valentine's Day for sure!
