And, you put that thick sugar liquid on top of the waffle. 你在华夫饼上放上那浓稠的液态糖。
You can also put some sort of fruit on top of the waffle also; I just like the sugar, myself. 你也可以在华夫饼上放上一些水果；可我偏爱放糖。
Something similar to a waffle is a pancake, "pancake," (all one word), 与华夫饼相似的是煎饼（pancake），（一个字），
and a pancake is also made from this batter—this liquid—thick liquid—except it goes into a flat pan on your stove and you flip 1 it over. 煎饼也是用那浓稠的糊状物做成的——不同的是煎饼要放在炉灶上的平底锅里，并且还要翻转它。
So, it's completely flat, there are no squares in it, usually it's round, and that's called a pancake. 因此，平底锅很平，里面没有方形小格，它一般是圆形的，那就叫做煎饼。
Both waffles and pancakes can be in stacks. 华夫饼和煎饼都能堆起来。
A stack, "stack," is when you have one long, thin thing on top of another. 堆（stack），就是一个又长又薄的物体放在另一个的上面。
So, you can have a stack of paper, pieces of paper one on top of the other. 比如，你有一堆纸，它就是一张纸放在另一张纸上。
The same is true with a waffle or with pancakes. 华夫饼或煎饼也是如此。
You can have a stack of waffles, one waffle on top of another, or a stack of pancakes. 你可以有一堆华夫饼，也就是一块华夫饼在另一块的上面，或一堆煎饼。
Usually, we talk about a stack of pancakes. 通常，我们会在下面的情况下说到一堆煎饼。
If you go to a restaurant and you order breakfast and you want pancakes, 如果你去饭店，你点早餐时想要点煎饼，
sometimes they will ask you if want a "short stack," meaning just one or two, or you might have a regular stack, which could be four or five. 有时饭店服务员会问你是要“不到一堆”的煎饼，意思是只要一两块，还是要正常的一堆煎饼，也就是有四五块的样子。
