Billy: It's Chinese New Year! That means it's time to eat hot pot!

Jennifer: Let's eat the kind that has both spicy 1 and mild broth 2 in one pot.

Billy: You mean half-and-half?

Jennifer: Yep. That way I can satisfy my craving 3 for spicy food and you can eat hot pot without burning into flames.

Billy: Good idea.

Jennifer: Let's go!

satisfy (v.)

使满足

crave 4 for

hot pot

火锅

A: What do you feel like having for dinner? B: It's kind of cold out. Why don't we have hot pot?

burn into flame

mild (a.)

broth (n.)

高汤

A: This soup is absolutely delicious! B: That's because I used homemade beef broth.

half-and-half (n.,a.)
