Chinese electric vehicle maker 1 BYD has unveiled its new unmanned monorail, SkyRail, in Yinchuan, capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous 2 Region, on Wednesday, January 10.
The unmanned train system will be officially put into operation in the second quarter of 2018.
SkyRail runs automatically. It also contains a self-contained automatic diagnosis 3 system, real-time passenger flow detection and facial recognition systems.
In addition, it can operate in temperatures ranging from -40 to 80 degrees Celsius 4.
SkyRail is a 5-year project developed by BYD at a cost of 5 billion yuan.
