A certain man planted a rose and watered it faithfully and before it blossomed, he examined it.
有个人种了一株玫瑰，按时浇水。在它就要开花的时候，他来检查了一下。
He saw the bud that would soon blossom ,but noticed thorns upon the stem and he thought, “how can a plant burdened with so many sharp thorns?” saddened by this thought, he neglected to water the rose, and just before it was ready to bloom…it died.
他看到花骨朵很快就要开了，但是同时也注意到枝节上的刺，他想：“任何漂亮的花怎么能从这么多利刺上长出来呢？”这么想着，他非常难过，开始疏于给花儿浇水，很快就在它即将盛开……枯萎了。
So it is with many people. Within every soul there is a rose. The God-like qualities planted in us at birth, grow amid the thorns of our faults. Many of us look at ourselves and see only the thorns, the defects.
这样的情况发生在许多人身上。在每个灵魂里，都有一株玫瑰。天赋在我们出生时就被植入体内，在我们的失败和错误的荆棘中成长。我们中的许多人只看到自己的荆棘、缺憾而已。
We despair, thinking that nothing good can possibly come from us. We neglect to water the good within us, and eventually it dies. We never realize our potential.
我们绝望了，觉得我们自身根本没有任何优点能显示出来。我们忽视了给内心的优点灌溉施肥，最终他们彻底消失了。我们从没意识到自己的能力。
Some people do not see the rose within themselves; someone else must show it to them. One of the greatest gifts a person can possess is to be able to reach past the thorns of another, and find the rose within them.
有的人看不到内心的玫瑰；还有的人必须把它呈现给别人。一个人能够拥有的最棒的礼物就是能够跨越这些荆棘，寻到内心隐藏的玫瑰。
This is one of the characteristic of love… to look at a person, know their true faults and accepting that person into your life…all the while recognizing the mobility 1 in their soul. Help others to realize they can overcome their faults. If we show them the “rose” within themselves, they wel conquer their thorns. Only then will they blossom many times over.
这是爱的特征之一……了解一个人，了解他们真正的错误，并在生活中接受这个人……然后去感知他们灵魂中的。帮助别人去认识他们能够克服他们的过错。如果我们向他们展示一些他们自己的“玫瑰”，那么他们就能够克服他们的荆棘。只有那样，他们才能一次一次地盛开。
