1. The Democratic-controlled Congress has approved health care legislation that will extend benefits to tens of millions of Americans who currently don't have it. The vote in the House was 219 to 212, with all Republicans voting against the bill. It now heads to President Barack Obama for his signature.
2. Former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush will travel to Haiti tomorrow as they continue to spread US fund-raising efforts in response to January's earthquake. Protest are expected when the two presidents visit as many Haitians continue to demand more international aid.
3. The government continues to roll out its new, beefed-up airport security plan and it's catching 1 many travellers by surprise. Some travellers now scanned, swabbed or thoroughly 2 patted down as they go through security. These new measures are in response to the failed Christmas Day attack over Detroit.
4. Moderate and in some parts' heavy snow continues to fall in parts of Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri. The powerful storm is blamed for at least five deaths and disrupting both ground and air travel. Despite a foot of snow in some parts, temperatures are expected to rise into the 60s tomorrow.
