[-1:-9.00]The noise seemed to be coming from the room behind the statue in front of them


[-1:10.00]It sounded like a woman crying.

[-1:11.00]They looked at the statue.

[-1:12.00]It was a strange creature with red eyes-

[-1:13.00]it was almost as if the creature was watching them.

[-1:14.00]Tom suddenly felt cold.

[-1:15.00]He remembered what his father had told him about the secrets of the church.

[-1:16.00]He knew that the church had many secret rooms and that not all of them were safe

[-1:17.00]If only they could find a way to get to the room,

[-1:18.00]or whatever it was,behind the wall.

[-1:19.00]The statue stood in front of the door

[-1:20.00]and there was no way they could get past it.

[-1:21.00]Tom looked at the statue again.

[-1:22.00]Strange!It looked as if the creature had moved.

[-1:23.00]He was just about to say something when Pete turned around.

[-1:24.00]"Tom,"he said,"I think I know a way in." "How?"Tom asked.

[-1:25.00]It says on the statue

[-1:26.00]that anyone who wants to enter the room must answer the question.

[-1:27.00]"That sounds strange,"said Tom,"What question?" "I don't know,"Pete said,

[-1:28.00]"but..."He did not have time to finish what he was saying.

[-1:29.00]The statue ws moving!

[-1:30.00]A deep voice came from the strange creature,

[-1:31.00]Listen carefully.You may enter the room if you know the answer to my question.

[-1:32.00]"What is the question?"Pete asked.

[-1:33.00]"It's a secret,"the creature said."A secret?"Pete said,

[-1:34.00]That's stupid!How can I can I give you an answer if the question is a secret?

[-1:35.00]The creature spoke 10 again,

[-1:36.00]Come here and I'll whisper 8 the question in your ear.

[-1:37.00]You will not remember the question tomorrow.

[-1:38.00]If you answer is right,you may enter.

[-1:39.00]If your answer is wrong,well,then you'll be in trouble.

[-1:40.00]Pete looked at Tom."I'll try,"he said.

[-1:41.00]He walked up to the creature and listened to the question.

[-1:42.00]After a few minutes,he whispered the answer in the creature's ear.

[-1:43.00]They both waited for something to happen.

[-1:44.00]"Are you sure you gave the right answer?"

[-1:45.00]Tom asked.Pete did not have time to say anything.

[-1:46.00]The statue moved to the side and the door opened up.

[-1:47.00]Tom and Pete looked at each other.

[-1:48.00]Tom was scared,"I guess we have to go in."
