Lesson22 Attitudes to Work
Anne Jones has been working at the City Bank for two years． Her boss is Mr.
． Bascomb． She thinks he is a difficult man， and doesn't like working forhim． Anne hates typing because it's so boring． And she can't stand takingorders． She avoids talking to Mr.． Bascomb as much as possible． “I can'tgo on doing this work，” says Anne． “It's driving me crazy”． Anne ishappiest when she is away from the job． She loves singing and playing theguitar． Music is the most important thing in her life．Barbara Martinoli also works 1 at the City Bank． She has been working there alittle longer than Anne． Barbara and Anne are good friends， but they havedifferent attitudes to their jobs． Barbara really enjoys working at thebank． She respects Mr． Bascomb and doesn't mind taking orders from him．Now that she is married， Barbara doesn't really need a job． Her husband，Tino， makes enough money to support both of them． But Barbara prefersworking to staying at home． “It's better than doing nothing，” saysBarbara．
