47 Little Blue Flower



 


  Sky Chief was a brave Indian chief. All his people loved him. He had a littleniece, Blue Flower. She looked just like her name. Her eyes were as blue asthe sky. Her hair was black and shiny, and it waved in the wind like the tallprairie grass. She could run like a deer, and she loved all the animals of theforest.

Blue Flower had a pet fawn 1. They played in the fields in the warm summer. Shemade wreaths 2 of daisies for her pet. They had fun in the snow in the coldwinter.

Sky Chief admired his little niece very much. On cold winter evenings, he toldher stories about the stars and how they got in the sky. He told her of theSun God and the Rain God, too.

Little Blue Flower was a very happy girl and she made all the others aroundher happy as well.
