             92            Will Daddy Be Home?


Becky was 1 six years old. On Christmas Eve 3 she helped her mother hanging 4 a stocking 5 marked 6 "Daddy? Becky asked her mom, "Will Daddy be home before Santa comes?"Becky's mom said 7, "I certainly 8 hope 9 so."Then Becky wanted her mother to put some cookies 10 out for Santa. Mom said it was a great idea. Then Becky went to bed to sleep.


Becky woke 11 up early next morning. She went to wake 12 up her parents and said, "Can we see if Santa came 13, Daddy? Can we, Mommy?"By now Becky's parents were not only awake 14 but also as 2 excited 15 as she was.


As they got 16 down the stairs 17 Becky and her parents were pleased 18 to see that there were lots of presents under the tree for them. Becky noticed 19 that the sugar cookies for Santa were gone and there was a note next to a present that said, "Give these to your Daddy. He was home and in bed by the time I got here."Becky grabbed 20 her Daddy by the leg and said, "Thank you daddy. I knew you'd make it home in time."

                              爸爸会来得及回家吗?


  贝基六岁了。圣诞节前夕,她帮她妈妈一起挂起了标着“爸爸”两个字的长筒袜。贝基问她妈妈:“圣诞老人来之前,爸爸能赶回家吗?”妈妈说:“我希望他能。”接着,贝基想让妈妈给圣诞老人准备一些饼干。妈妈说那是个很棒的主意。然后,贝基就上床睡觉去了。 


  第二天一大早,贝基就醒了。她跑去叫醒爸爸妈妈,对他们说:“我们能去看看圣诞老人是不是来过了吗,爸爸?可以吗,妈妈?”这时,贝基的父母不仅醒了,而且还和贝基一样兴奋。 


  来到楼下,贝基和爸爸妈妈看到圣诞树下有那么多给他们的礼物,他们高兴极了。贝基注意到,那些送给圣诞老人的甜饼干都不见了,一件礼物旁边有一张纸条,上面写着,“把这些送给你的爸爸。在我到达这里时,他已经到家上床睡觉了。”贝基抱着爸爸的腿说:“谢谢你,爸爸。我知道你会及时赶回来的。”
