Survive的基本意思是指经过比较大的灾难后仍旧活了下来,即“继续生存”。

Only two passengers survived the air-crash. 这次飞机失事只有两名乘客幸免于死。

I don't know how I ever survived high school.

我都不知道我是怎样熬过高中那段岁月的。

Survive还可指自身的生存时间相对于他人来说比较长,即“比…活得长”。

She survived her husband by twenty years. 她丈夫去世后她又活了二十年。

口语:I'll survive.

当自己遇到了十分艰难的情况时,就可以说这句"I'll survive."来激励自己一下。意思是不管情况再怎么艰难,你都会活下去。例如和心爱的恋人分手了,别人可能会问问你, "Are you all right?" 你就可以说, "I'll survive. Thanks" (多谢你,我会活下去的。)

别外类似的讲法叫"I'll get over it."同样也是指自己会度过难关的意思。例如当你输了一场重要的比赛, 这时就可以安慰自己说, "I'll get over it." 我会好好的,我会挺过去的。
