　　The National Day is a designated(特定的) date on which celebrations mark the nationhood of a nation。

　　The National Day of the People's Republic of China is a public holiday and is celebrated 1 annually 2 on October 1.
　　说到国庆节，估计大部分人的第一反应就是放假，7天假期。
　　Talking about national day, where is this phrase originally come from?
　　在很久很久以前，古代中国人把皇帝即位、诞辰称为“国庆”。“国庆”一词，本指国家喜庆之事，最早见于西晋。到了今天，我们一般称国家建立的纪念日为国庆节。然而，并不是每个国家都有国庆节。
　　比如说，英国。
　　Currently the UK has no single official national day, although the Queen's Official Birthday is used for this purpose in some contexts.
　　大不列颠每年有很多节日，但并没有像我们一样的正式的国庆节。所以，女皇的生日有时候就会被当做国庆节来庆祝了。
