TEHRAN, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Monday congratulated Nicolas Maduro on his victory in Venezuela's presidential election 1, Press TV reported.
Maduro's election has great significance in establishing a new world order considering Venezuela's effective position among independent nations in their freedom-seeking movement, Ahmadinejad said.
Maduro, Venezuela's acting 2 president, narrowly won Sunday's election with 50.66 percent of the votes, according to official figures.
