   1. "靠谱"


  "靠谱" is a slang term commonly used on a daily basis by Chinese people. It literally 1 means "to be reliable" or "to be worthy 2 of trust" and is used to refer to a person or something that one believes to be trustworthy.
  例句:
  太不靠谱了,我要和你绝交!
  You are totally unreliable. Our relations end here!
  2. “走桃花运"
  Literally means “to have peach blossom luck". This phrase refers to "being lucky in love”.
  例句:
  很多大龄单身青年希望走桃花运。
  Many single young people who are starting to advance in age hope to get lucky and find their special someone.
  3. “碰一鼻子灰"
  This means “to be rebuffed after trying to please someone."
  例子:

  She was rebuffed by her manager after raising the matter.
  5. "赶鸭子上架"
  It is a Chinese phrase literally meaning "drive a duck onto a perch 3" (The western equivalent is saying you can’t lead a horse to water). This phrase is usually used to refer to "forcing someone to do something beyond his/her ability."
