五个点子 充实你的大学暑假
From the first day of classes in the fall to the last day of classes in the spring, summer can seem like an oasis 1. Your summer months can be both enjoyable and a productive 2 way to contribute to your college goals。
从秋天开始上课，一直上到春天，夏天就好像是沙漠里的绿洲。暑假的几个月，你既可以过的很开心，又可以有所收获，对你在大学里的目标有所帮助。
1. Head home and get a great job 回家找份好工作
You can stay with friends or family, possibly save money on food and rent, and still earn some extra cash. Remember, too, that a "great" job can mean lots of different things: good pay, good for your resume 3, good for the skills you can bring back to campus 4 in the fall。
你可以和朋友或家人待在一起，这样会省下吃住的钱，并能赚点儿外快。但是也要记住，一份“好”工作可以有很多不同的含义：丰厚的报酬、为简历增色、或学点儿东西，等秋天回到大学里能用得上。
2. Stay at school and get a great job 待在学校里，找份好工作
Job openings on or near campus may be much better than your options back at home. Why not stay on campus, relax a little, and earn some extra money?

3. Volunteer 做志愿者
You can volunteer in your home city, the city where your school is, or somewhere you've never been. You can volunteer in your home country or somewhere halfway 5 across the globe. You can volunteer for a political campaign, for a religious organization, or for a social-justice based non-profit. The options are limitless!
你可以去家里所在的城市、或上学的城市、或从未去过的任一地方做志愿者。你可以在自己的国家或横跨半球的某个地方做志愿者。你可以选择为政治运动、或宗教组织、或有助社会公平的非盈利组织做志愿者。 选择无极限！
4. Do research or take extra classes in your field 在你所学领域做做研究或再上一些额外的课程
Did you really connect with a professor during the academic year? See if he or she needs any research assistants over the summer. Want to research your own theories? Apply for grant 6 money to stay on campus. Think you might want to change your major? Take an extra class or two to see if it's really what you want to do。
本学年你有没有联系过导师？看看他或她在暑假需不需要研究助理。你想对自己的理论进行研究？ 申请研究资金留在校园里吧。想改专业？再上一两门课，看看它到底是不是自己想要的专业。
5. Travel the world 周游世界
On top of being a fantastic journey, it can also connect to your academic course of study. If you want to major in International Relations, Spanish Literature, or Chinese, for example, summer travel can be both enjoyable and academic in nature (no matter what your parents might think!)。周游世界除了能拥有一个美妙的旅程外，还能和你的专业课学习联系起来。如果你想主攻国际关系学、西班牙文学或汉语，在暑假去旅游既可以过得很愉快，又可以在学术上有所收获。(别管你的父母会怎么想！)
