克里斯蒂娜·罗赛蒂（Christina Rossetti）是19世纪英国著名女诗人。她的名作《歌》（Song）发表在诗集Goblin Market and other Poems里。我国诗人徐志摩将它译成中文后，罗大佑根据徐志摩的译文谱曲，也就是视频中纵贯线乐队演唱的《歌》。
When I am dead, my dearest,当我死了的时候，亲爱的Sing no sad songs for me;别为我唱悲伤的歌Plant thou no roses at my head,我坟上不必安插蔷薇Nor shady cypress 1 tree:

我也许，我也许忘记这首诗中，罗赛蒂使用了一些旧式英语和诗歌英语中的特殊用法：
1. thou /ea?/ = you 就像现代汉语用“你”代替“汝”一样，thou在现代英语中已极其罕见。旧式英语中，你作主语时用thou，作宾语时用thee，你们作主语和宾语时都用you。到了今天，这四种用法已经全部用you。
2. wilt /w?lt/ = will 现代英语中，wilt的意思是枯萎。但在古代，当主语是第二人称单数，也就是thou时，现代英语的you will 写作thou wilt。
3. doth = does 现代汉语中，第三人称单数要用does，在古代，人们用doth。
4. haply = perhaps
