Good morning everyone. Two opinion polls show voters have now turned against the Abbot government following budget welfare cuts and tax raises. The prime minister says approval rating has fallen dramatically. And opposition 1 leader Bill Shorten has now had a surge in the support.
State of inside leaders are demanding a meeting with the prime minister as they continue their fight against the 80 billion dollars in budget cuts to schools and hospitals. At a press conference yesterday, the leaders were united in their condonation 2 of the plan. The anger was echoed by tens of thousands of protesters who took to streets in capital cities.
Serbia is battling the worst flood since modern records began. The capital Belgrade is breathing for a flood way through the city as water moves down the river Sava from neighbouring Bosnia and Croatia which has also been hit.
Turkish police has arrested 25 people following the country’s worst ever mining disaster. Dan Clow, the general manger of the mine and they’ve been questioned in the town of Soma where Tuesday’s disaster happened. The final x x stands 301 after the last bodies were recovered on the weekend.
The Cambodian government says a committee considering a refugee deal with Australia has now completed its work. The deal could see up to 1000 refugees send from Australia to one of the world’s poorest nations. Details of the negotiations 3 are not yet known. A memorandum 4 of understanding could be signed in just days ahead.
