Twenty-three people have been rescued from the flood waters and there've hundreds of calls for help. One man drowned when he was trapped in a storm water drain.
In the U.S, rescue workers are searching for more than 100 people still missing after a massive landslide 4 in Washington state. The mudslide has destroyed 30 homes in the town of Oso. Eight bodies have been recovered so far and several people have been critically injured.
Former Labor 5 MP Craig Thompson will be sentenced today. He's been found guilty of defrauding 6 the Health Service Union of more than 24,000 dollars. He faces up to five years in jail.
And the Australian journalist Peter Greste has one again been denied bail 7 as he faces terrorism charges in Egypt.
