Multiple troughs are generating showers and storms over Western Australia, the southern Northern Territory, inland Queensland and eastern New South Wales, while a front is causing showers in Tasmania.
Ex-tropical cyclone 1 Heavy is bringing gusty 2 winds. Heavy rain and thunderstorms to the tropical Queensland coast. A high is keeping much of South Australia mostly dry.
Looking around the country.
For Queensland, wind and showers easing on the coast. Storms in the tropics, very warm in the west, showers and storms in the southwest and central.
For New South Wales, warm in the east, very warm in the west, showers and storms on the ranges and in the southeast.
In Victoria, warm in the north, cool in the south, showers and thunderstorms clearing in the east.
Tasmania will see showers in the central and eastern parts. Mostly clearing....mostly dry in the west.
For South Australia, cool in the south, very warm in the north. Mostly sunny.
For Western Australia, showers and storms over the western inland and north. Hot in the north, warm in the west and dry in the east.
And for the Northern Territory, showers and storms for the Top End. Hot inland ,mostly sunny in the south.
And looking ahead to tomorrow's forecast for the capitals: clearing showers in Brisbane and Adelaide, a possible shower or two for Sydney and Canberra, mostly sunny in Melbourne and Perth, light showers for Hobart and light thunderstorms for Darwin.
