More than 40 world leaders linked arms to march through Paris Sunday. Joining a sea of mourners who flooded Paris’ Republic Square, as a traumatic week comes to a close in France. Hundreds of thousands of Parisians participated in a mass march for unity 1 following the deadly attacks at weekly satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo. Officials say this is the largest demonstration 2 in French history.
Police in Hamburg, Germany detained two men early Sunday, suspected of an arson 3 attack against a newspaper that republished the Charlie Hebdo’s cartoons. The arson attacks destroyed several files in its archive but didn’t injure anyone.
The tail of the Air-Asia plane that crashed into the Java Sea two weeks ago was brought ashore 4 in Indonesia, amajor success in the slow-moving hunt for wreckage 5. Meanwhile, there is growing optimism that the searchers are closing in on the plane’s black boxes.
