It may be some time before the winner in Alaska is known because of the write-in campaign of Lisa Murkowski. As of late Tuesday night, write-ins had about 40 percent of the vote, compared to 35 percent for Republican Joe Miller 5.
4. Authorities in Greece have halted all outgoing mail deliveries abroad after a spade of parcel bombs. The 48-hour ban took effect today after booby-trapped parcels reached the office of German Chancellor 6 Angela Merkel and halted flights to an Italian airport.
