A senior health official has said China will continue to send medical teams to help African countries fight Ebola and further develop cooperation within the healthcare sector 1.
The announcement was made during the 5th international roundtable on China-Africa health collaboration 2.
An official with China's National Health and Family Planning Commission 3 says China has been sending medical aid to Africa for half a century.
Ren Minghui adds that since the beginning of the Ebola outbreak a year ago the Chinese government has provided 4 medical support worth around 750 million Yuan.

"As a whole, China has sent nearly a thousand medical staff to Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia and other surrounding countries. There are nearly five thousand virus samples collected, eight hundred patients treated and more than 120 thousand people trained on the Ebola control. "
The meeting is from Thursday to Saturday.
In the last five decades, more than 20 thousand Chinese volunteers have helped to treat more than 230 million patients in 45 countries and regions 5 in Africa.
