Wang Yin, a 24-year-old postgraduate 1 student of the TsinghuaUniversity, constantly uses Sina Weibo, China’s
Twitter-like socialnetworking site. Sina Weibo was introduced in 2009, and now isthe undisputed
champion in this field.
24岁的王寅是清华大学的一位研究生,他经常使用新浪微博--中国的一个类似Twitter的社交网站。新浪微博于2009年推出,是当下这一领域无可争议的王者。
“On Weibo, I’m mostly interested in current events, what my friends are saying, and
someinformation related to health and psychology,” Mr. Wang said. “Every day I log in over five times,using either my computer or mobile phone. And I
stay on for two or three hours.”
王寅说:“在微博上,我最感兴趣的是时事新闻,朋友们的留言,以及健康和心理方面的一些信息。每天我都会登陆5次以上,要么用电脑,要么用手机,大约会在微博上逗留两三个小时。”
Mr. Wang is just one of Weibo’s 140 million registered users. Chinese social networking
companiesare booming. In the two years since microblog services became widely
available in China, theyhave attracted more than 220 million registered users.
