NEW YORK, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- National Basketball Association (NBA) owners and players ratified 1 a new collective bargaining agreement on Thursday.
The agreement snapped a five-month lockout and ensures the 2011- 12 season will begin later this month.
With the deal ratified, free agency and training camps will open on Friday with a shortened 66-game regular season starting Dec. 25 with five games.
