South Korea announced an extension of its air defense 1 identification zone on Sunday. The zone encompasses 2 submerged rocks within the overlapping 4 exclusive economic zones of China and South Korea. China responded on Monday saying it was willing to maintain communications with South Korea on the basis of equality and mutual 5 respect.
For more on the disputes over the air defense identification zones among the three Asian countries, we are joined by our correspondents Shane Hahm in Seoul and Terrence Terashima in Tokyo.
