HAVANA, May 27 (Xinhua) -- Cuban President Raul Castro held talks Monday with visiting Saint Lucia Prime Minister Kenny Anthony, to enhance cooperation and friendship between the two Caribbean countries.
A brief official release issued after the meeting said the two leaders reviewed the state of the bilateral 1 relations and expressed their mutual 2 willingness to further strengthen these ties besides analyzing 3 the important regional and international issues.
Cuban First Vice 4 President Miguel Diaz-Canel also attended the meeting, among other officials from the two countries.
Anthony arrived early Monday in Havana for a seven-day official visit.
Cuba and St. Lucia established formal relations in 1979. And Havana has cooperated with Castries mainly in the medical, construction and sports fields since 2001.
