A Chinese-led consortium has won a contract for a multi-billion dollar high-speed passenger rail link between Mexico City and the central city of Queretaro.
China Railway Construction has teamed up with China Southern Rail in a consortium of companies for the bid, which also involves four big Mexican companies.
The group, led by the China Railway Construction Corporation, was the only bidder 1 for the project, despite earlier interest from rivals like German conglomerate 2 Siemens and Canada's Bombardier.
