[03:29.53]Everybody knows what an IQ is,
[03:34.39]but do you know that you also have an EQ which stands for"Emotional 3 Quotient"?
[03:41.75]Emotional Quotient
[03:45.23]refers to a score which is supposed to be a measure of our abilliy
[03:51.08]to understand our own emotions and the emotions of others,
[03:57.01]and to act apppropriately bassed on this understanding.
[04:02.08]We are created,devloped,and kept in relationships throughtout our lives.
[04:08.84]Many people agree that the EQ is a good predictor of success in life and work,
[04:15.90]but the IQ is not.
[04:19.66]When we come across emotional matters,
[04:24.31]how we feel about them and how we act towards them indicates our EQ.
[04:31.39]Our EQ is very much like our IQ in some ways,
[04:36.85]but we could have a very low IQ of 100 or lower,
[04:42.80]and still have a very high EQ.
[04:47.56]The IQ is supposed to be a measure of a person's knowledge of facts,
[04:53.49]verbal and mathematical 4 skills,memory and logical 5 reasoning.
[05:00.25]Some people believe that a high IQ is necessary.
[05:05.29]but not enough for leading a healthy,satisfying and fulfilling 6 life.
[05:11.77]Everybody has emotions,which connect him or her with others and the world.
[05:18.01]If the EQ test shows that you are aware of your own emotions,
[05:24.18]that would raise your score on the EQ scale.
[05:29.35]On the other hand,if the test indicates that you are not being understanding,
[05:35.80]losing your temper,shy,jealous and/or maintaining 7 poor interpersonal relationships,
[05:44.48]this information would lower your score on the EQ scale.
[05:50.33]Having a healthy emotional intelligence is very important
[05:56.21]in order for human beings to live happy and successful lives.
[06:02.27]Healthy emotional intelligence helps us make good decisions about our lives
[06:09.11]and communicate well with the people we love.
[06:13.84]Keep in mind that pur emotional intelligence can change.
[06:20.21]We can increase our emotional intelligence at any point in our life
[06:26.56]by learning 8 to identify,
[06:30.22]effectively manage and take responsibiliy for those emotions.
[06:36.38]No matter how high our emotional intelligence level is[06:42.02]we could benefit from some of these tips
[06:46.47]in order to improve that emotional, intelligence.

[06:54.48]take an exercise class or participate in activities that reduce our stress levels.
[07:01.85]* Take up a new hobby or sport that involves interacting 9 with other people.

[07:19.69]* See a counsellor to help us deal with our emotions.

[07:59.84]Whenever I felt sick,I told myself I would live on to finish my list.
[08:06.01]LiMeng:That must be a magic list.Where did you get this idea?
[08:11.18]Lisa:From another lady,who also has leukemia.
[08:15.83]She showed me her list and told me she had finished eight things.
[08:21.76]She had to live on to finish the rest.
[08:26.23]Xiaohong:That's amazing!Do you still remember a few things on her list?
[08:31.69]Lisa:Yeah.All interesting stuff 11.
[08:35.94]So I told myself life is too wonderful to part with.
[08:41.51]And I also drew up my list.
