According to survey results released on Monday, the number of books read per year by Chinese adults has essentially 1 stayed the same, but newspapers and magazines are falling out of favor.
The survey polled over 40,000 adults in 29 provincial-level regions, and found that Chinese read a little less than 5 print books and over 2 digital ones in a year.
Meanwhile, they read nearly 71 newspapers and 6 magazines a year, down 6% and 1% year on year. The average reading time a day is around 13 minutes, while the time spent on the internet is 51 minutes.
