NEW YORK, April 16 (Xinhua) -- The 96th annual Pulitzer Prizes were announced Monday in New York's Columbia University with the Philadelphia Inquirer receiving the coveted 1 public service Pulitzer.
The Philadelphia Inquirer was awarded for its exploration of pervasive 2 violence in the city's schools, using powerful print narratives 3 and videos to illuminate 4 crimes committed by children against children and to stir reforms to improve safety for teachers and students.
