[06:46.67]teachers or chemists.Before they can begin working,however
[06:52.97]they must find a job.The first problem for them to meet with
[06:58.98]is the job interview.Even though they may be well qualified,
[07:05.06]getting the right job can be difficult
[07:08.88]if they are not prepared to deal with the job interview.
[07:13.37]Kim's experience is a good example.While in school,
[07:21.08]Kim worked hard to study his chosen subject,computer science.
[07:27.06]When a program did not work properly,Kim kept on trying until it did
[07:34.35]He never hesitated to ask his professorsabout aspects of computer science
[07:41.04]that he did not understand.
[07:44.12]He even managed to work in the computer room on campus to get experience
[07:51.82]All of his professors agreed that Kim was a well-qualified gradu- ate.
[07:57.83]A month before Kim graduated with a B.S. degree
[08:04.41]his advisor encouraged him to sign up for an interview with a large company.
[08:10.79]The company needed someone to be a programming supervisor
[08:16.98]Kim thought he would be good at doing that job.
[08:21.37]A week before the interview,Kim became nervous about making a bad impression
[08:28.97]So,he asked his advisor to give him some help.
[08:34.06]His advisor told him to make a list of possible questions
[08:40.05]and to practise answering them.Finally,his advisor assured 6 him

[08:50.96]Kim thanked his advisor for his encouragement
[08:55.35]and agreed to practise answering some possible questions.
[09:01.05]As Kim waited in the outer office to meet the interviewer,
[09:06.95]however,all of this good advice seemed to fly out of the window.
[09:12.96]Although he had practised and was used to giving the right answers
[09:19.65]during the interview,he could only stutter and stammer.
[09:24.74]You can see that a person can be well qualified for a job
[09:30.23]but fail to get it
[09:32.94]because he is not accustomed to performing well in a job interview
