Three Palestinians including an 1)infant have been shot to death near the 2)volatile West Bank city of Hebron. Four others were injured in the attack.
Palestinian sources blame Jewish settlers for the attack, and a 3)shadowy Jewish 4)extremist group, the Committee for Road Safety, claimed responsibility.
Jewish settlers driving West Bank roads have frequently been targeted by Palestinian militants 2 in the nine months since the 5)outbreak of the Palestinian uprising, or Intifada.
The main settlers' organization 6)denounced the attack, saying if settlers were responsible, it would set back their movement.
This latest incident in the Hebron area came as G-8 foreign ministers called for international monitors to help 7)implement the Israeli-Palestinian 8)truce.
